MTV: Britney #1 Artist of 2007
''Before 2007, Britney Spears was just your average Mouseketeer-to-Mom blonde pop star with over 83 million albums sold, and a couple of divorces and babies under her belt. But after her shocking performance at the 2007 VMAs, the hair clippers incident, more legal woes than Enron, and one of her most risqué videos yet, 2007 will forever go down in history as The Year Of Spears.''
Akon swooped in at #2, T-Pain at #3 and Rihanna scored #4.

Best of iTunes 2007
Maroon 5’s ‘It Won't Be Soon Before Long’ was inveiled today as the best-selling album on US iTunes this year. Amy Winehouse’s ‘Back To Black’ was in second place while Kanye West’s ‘Graduation’ came in third.
50 Cent’s ‘Curtis’ which went head to head with Kanye in its first week of release, did not even feature in the Top Ten. In song downloads, Fergie’s ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry’ was the top seller, followed by Gwen Stefani's ‘The Sweet Escape’ and ’ ‘Hey There Delilah’.

Personally, I think Maroon 5's album doesn't deserve the #1 position. It is a boring album with few decent tracks on it except for 'Makes Me Wonder' which itself was quite generic.
Piece Of Me Mysto & Pizzi Remix

Radiohead 'In Rainbows'
Rihanna's 'Breakin Dishes'
Breakin' Dishes has been confirmed as the fifth single to come from Rihannas 'Good Girl Gone Bad' and will drop in very early 2008. She badly needs another hit in my opinion, admittedly 'Umbrella' was a smash, but she has failed to spawn anything notable since then.

Rumours of My Chemical Romance split
My Chemical Romance have published a cryptic message on their website which has lead to rumours of a split.
On TheBlackParade.com, there is a repeating image of of a hospital monitor's flatline and the words "00 BPM" on the bottom right handside of the screen. To add more mystery to the online message, the band played as fictional group The Black Parade at gigs earlier this year, a reference to MCR's album, Welcome To The Black Parade. Now fans of the emo troup are speculating as to whether this means the complete end of the band or just the 'Black Parade' era?

Concerts subsidising poor CD sales
It is widely accepted that most musicians do not make the money they once did from the sale of CD's. As a result they are being forced to look to touring to bring in the cash.
Reunited rock group The Police had the highest-earning music tour in North America in 2007, official figures show. The band's 54 gigs in the US and Canada generated $131.9m (£66.5m), almost double the total of the second-placed act, country star Kenny Chesney.
Justin Timberlake was in third position, followed by Celine Dion and then Van Halen, another group which got back together to tour this year.

Some justice for Cascada
I am happy to see that Cascada's New song 'What Hurts the Most' has made it to #10 in the UK charts and is even making headway in the US Billboard Hot 100. I chuckled when I read the scarily accurate review by a Swedish Critic recently, which by the way I completely agree with.
''Billboard's Chuck Taylor wrote a positive review of this song saying, "Wouldn't it be wondrous if American programmers renewed their vow in 2008 to put variety on the airwaves—or do we really need a fifth entry in the top 10 from T-Pain?"
If you haven't already got their new song, even if you're not into dance music, download it. You may be surprised! :)
Ciara 'That's Right' Video

Another Flop?
After Whatever You Like and Baby Love both bombing in the charts, im guessing she really needs this to be a hit. My advice, go back to the Pussycat Dolls.

Back Britney Y'all!
C'mon people - go forth and purchase Piece of Me. Her new album is going down as a flop (entered at #2 on Billboard 200 but then fell quite quickly) and in my opinion this criticism is undeserved; she was robbed of the #1 position on a last minute technicality.
I wasn't a fan of hers until she released the club friendly Gimme More, but every single track (except the dull Heaven on Earth) from Blackout has had plenty listenings on my iTunes and its well worth the cash.

Timbaland's Next Single 'Scream'
Well apparantly the votes are in and Scream is his next song. we can all rest assured that it will enter top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. I can't see it doing as well as Apologize because I feel it is a weaker song. Feel free to comment if you disagree!
It features the Pussycat Dolls' Nicole Scherzinger and Keri Hilson from smash 'The Way I Are'

Amy Housewine - Go back to studio!
The Wino's new single - 'Love Is a Losing Game' is a cracking song, no one is denying that.
But what irritates me is that shes just releasing song after song from her critically acclaimed album 'Back To Black' instead of bothering to record anything new.
The people are getting fed up - this is reflected in the fact its her lowest charting song to date, crawling it at a low #46 on the UK singles chart.
X Factor ruining our fun!
To all those who don't live in the UK, the X-factor is a popular talent show much like American Idol which spans over about 5 months and endevours to flush out the best British singers.
Am I the only one who is sick of the X factor winning the Christmas #1 crown!? I mean maybe I can make an exception for Leona Lewis last year, but enough is enough. I suggest we ignore the #1 spot in future and place more emphasis on its more popular cousin...#2. Therefore, I am happy to congratulate Eva Cassidy and Katie Melua this years Christmas chart winners.
The fabulous Leona also holds the Christmas#1 album, Spirit.
She's great, Leon however, isn't.
